Houston’s first agility run
Here is Houston’s first agility run.
I learned a lot from watching this video. He notices and shows concern about the boy leash runner. I could have waited a bit longer to get his attention back on me and waited for him to offer me a sit, before I took off his leash.
He did not respond to my first release cue, probably because he was showing me the value in concern for “the boy”.
My word for tunnel for him is tunnel, but I used my old word of “through” which sounds too much like his name (my bad). I would also like to work on getting a faster dog walk, so that means I need to do some more plank work. He used to be fast, but slowed down after learning teeter, so both need work in terms of making them more fun! I also need to do some double box work with him so he is stronger with my change of arms change of direction cues.
On a good note, his weaves were confident, he did a lovely tight turn on command after the A-frame (not shown in video) and he showed no concern of the chute which is great considering he has not been in a chute much. He also easily cleared his first spread jump at 16 inches. Oh and his table down was super fast!
He got his first Qualifying score on his very first run! What a good boy!!
